Privacy policy
Migraine Tracker is a diary. What you write in it stays on your phone. This page says exactly what that means, and what the few things that do leave your phone are.
There is no account
The app never asks for your name, your email address, or a password, and there is nothing to sign in to. We cannot look up your diary, because we do not have it.
Your diary stays on the phone
Every migraine you log, every note, every medication you add, the name and date of birth you may put on a report, and every setting is stored on the phone itself. None of it is uploaded, backed up to us, or shared. It goes into your iPhone or iCloud backup if you have one turned on, which is Apple's backup and not ours.
If you export a backup file, that file is yours: it goes wherever you send it and nowhere else.
Settings, Legal, Delete my data removes all of it from the phone. That cannot be undone.
Three things do leave the phone, and they are the only three.
1. Usage measurements, through PostHog
The app sends measurements of how it is used to PostHog, an analytics service, so we can see which parts people actually use and where they get stuck. What is sent:
- Which screens were opened, and which buttons were pressed.
- Your answers to the questions the app asks when you first open it, which include how often you get migraines, how bad the last one was, and whether you want the period question turned on. These are the answers you tap, never anything you type.
- Whether a plan was bought, restored, or cancelled, and which plan.
- Crashes, with the technical detail of where the app failed.
- A random identifier that PostHog creates and stores in the app so two measurements from the same phone can be counted as one person. It is not your Apple ID, not the advertising identifier, and not tied to anything that says who you are.
What is never sent: the notes you write, the notes on a day, anything you type into a list, the names of medications you add yourself, and the name and date of birth you may put on a report.
Deleting the app removes the identifier, and measurements already sent can no longer be connected to you. To ask us to delete what was sent, write to the address at the bottom of this page.
PostHog stores this in the United States. PostHog's own policy is at posthog.com/privacy.
2. Purchases, through Adapty and Apple
If you buy a plan, Apple handles the payment. We never see your card, your billing address, or your Apple ID. Adapty, a subscription service, records that a purchase happened and tells the app whether your plan is active, so the app knows what to unlock. Adapty's policy is at adapty.io/privacy.
3. The pressure forecast, through Apple
If you turn on the pressure forecast, the app asks for your location and sends it to Apple's weather service to get the forecast for where you are. It is used for that and nothing else: we do not store it, and it is not sent to PostHog or to Adapty. You can refuse, or turn it off later in your phone's settings, and the rest of the app carries on working.

Reminders
The reminders the app sends are made on the phone by the phone. Nothing about them is sent anywhere.
No advertising, no tracking
There are no adverts in the app. Nothing about you is sold or shared with anyone for advertising, and nothing the app collects is used to follow you across other apps or websites. The app never asks for permission to track, because it does not.
Children
The app is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
Your rights
We are in Cyprus, so European data protection law applies. You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to it being used. Write to the address below and we will answer within a month.
Almost everything the app records is only on your phone, where you can read, change and delete it yourself, and where we cannot reach it. The usage measurements are the part we hold, and we keep them for two years.
We measure usage because we have a legitimate interest in knowing whether the app works, and we keep it to the minimum that answers that question. If you would rather not be counted, write to us.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. A change that affects what leaves your phone will be said in the app as well.
